Have India, China started resolving strained ties?

During the 57th ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting and related meeting which took place in Laos, regional concerns about boundary disputes between neighboring countries and violence in Myanmar were brought up. The event gained added interest when External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishakar and Wang Yi, his counterpart from China met on the sidelines of the regional meet.

According to statement from the ministry of external affairs, EAM Jaishankar and Wang Yi, his Chinese counterpart, met on the sidelines of the ASEAN event in Vientiane, Laos, to assess the ties between  India and China and bilateral dialogue the conversation that was started in Astana earlier this month.

The fact that the two met twice in less than month highlights how crucial it is for Beijing and New Delhi to find an early solution to the LAC dispute.
