One week before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the organizers of the Paris Olympics announced on Friday that they were experiencing issues related to a significant global computer systems failure.
The problems arose after a significant outage wrecked havoc on computer systems throughout the globe, affecting telecommunications in Australia, grounding planes in the US, and disrupting television broadcasts in the UK.
“Paris 2024 is aware of widespread technical problems with Microsoft software on a global scale. “These problems are affecting the IT operations of Paris 2024,” the organizers said in a statement.
