Their collaboration at the crease resulted in a colossal 175-run partnership for the opening wicket, a testament to their exceptional prowess. Warner’s innings came to a close at 81 runs, crafted from 65 balls, adorned with five boundaries and six towering maximums. Meanwhile, Head, on the other hand, etched his name in World Cup history by securing a century on his debut in the tournament, amassing 109 runs in just 67 balls.

Travis Head’s performance on his World Cup debut was nothing short of spectacular. Despite sitting out the first five games of the World Cup, he displayed no signs of rustiness, setting the record for the fastest fifty in the 2023 event. Head’s century in 59 balls stood as the third fastest by an Australian in World Cups and the third quickest in the current edition.
