Shubman Gill, the talented young opener of the Indian cricket team, has achieved the number-one position in the latest ICC ODI batting rankings. He surpassed Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who held the top spot before the start of the World Cup. Gill’s exceptional performance in the tournament, along with the challenge faced by Babar Azam in scoring runs, led to this change in rankings.

He now has 830 rating points, while Babar Azam is six points behind him in second place. Quinton de Kock of South Africa is ranked third, although there is a significant gap between the top three players.
