Qualification round
In qualification, Sarabjot scored 291 while Divya’s score was 286. The total score of both was 577 and they were one point ahead of China in the qualification. But the Chinese pair won the gold medal match.
The two teams continued to fight tooth and nail and in the end, the contest was nothing. In the deciding series, it was only tenths. World champion and two-time Olympic medalist Zhang Bowen came up with 10.7 in the final set to secure the much-needed gold medal for China.
Meanwhile, Divya and Sarabjot recorded 10.5 and 9.9 runs respectively. For each series win, the pairs receive two points in the mixed team competition. In case of a tie, the point is shared between the two opponents. The winner is the one who first wins eight series or manages to reach 16 points. Points for each series are tallied after each shooter on a given team has completed a shot.
