Reports on social media has claimed that the Huawei Mate 80 series, which isn’t expected to release until at least next year, may include sophisticated facial recognition technology.
The Huawei Mate 70 is rumored to be the Chinese smartphone manufacturer’s next phone, and it may launch before the year is out. However, it is also possible that its replacement will offer users more security and privacy because of a sophisticated 3D facial recognition technology built into the display.
Mate 80 Series on Chinese social media
Tipster Fixed Focus Digital (translated from Chinese) posted a screenshot of a conversation on the Chinese social networking site Weibo, seemingly indicating the presence of a sophisticated in-display 3D facial recognition camera on the rumored Huawei Mate 80.
Although it was formerly anticipated to be included with the future Mate 70 models, that may not be the case now that the phone has reportedly started mass production. It is more likely that the Mate 80, which might be released late in the next year, will include 3D face recognition technology.
Nonetheless, there are still rumors that the Huawei Mate 70 series would increase security, with a 3D face recognition sensor supposedly coming standard on all models. This feature was absent from the base model last year.

Huawei to unveil Huawei Tri-Fold Smartphone
The first-ever tri-fold smartphone is apparently about to be unveiled by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer. Richard Yu, the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, was recently seen holding it. It has a sizable internal screen that may be folded three times. This phone is rumored to contain an inner 10-inch display, with the front camera’s hole-punch cutout on the leftmost screen.
The Kirin 9 series CPU, which is also said to power the next Huawei Mate 70 series in China, may power the tri-fold smartphone. For a tri-fold smartphone, the device’s thickness may be considered “average.” It is anticipated to soon begin mass manufacturing.
