Days after pulling out from the upcoming Lok Sabha elections race, Bhojpuri film industry’s super star Pawan Singh on Wednesday announced that he will contest the 2024 polls.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Pawan said: “I will contest the Lok Sabha election to fulfill the promises I have made with my society, public and my mother. All your blessings and cooperation are expected. Jay Mata Di.”

However, Pawan Singh did not clarified as from which party or constituency he would contest the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. As per reports, the Bhojpuri star most likely to contest from the Arrah Lok Sabha constituency. Notably, Arrah is also the native place of Pawan Singh. As of now, BJP’s RK Singh, who belongs to an upper caste family, is a member of Lok Sabha from the Arrah seat.

Pawan Singh too, hails from an upper caste family in the state of Bihar.

Notably, the upper caste people has always been considered as the core vote-bank of BJP in the state of Bihar.

Earlier on March 2, the BJP had named Pawan Singh as the party’s Lok Sabha candidate from Asansol Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal. However, just a day after, Pawan Singh denied to contest the Lok Sabha polls citing some “personal reasons”. Later, he also met with BJP President JP Nadda in the national capital.

The Bhojpuri star, who was named in BJP’s first list comprising 195 candidates, had said in an X post: “I express my heartfelt gratitude to the top leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party. The party trusted me and declared me the candidate from Asansol but due to some personal reason, I will not be able to contest the election from Asansol.”

At present, the Asansol Lok Sabha constituency is represented by veteran bollywood actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). The actor will once again be contesting the 2024 Lok Sabha election from the same seat.
