Nuh Violence: A day after authorities destroyed shanties allegedly belonging to Rohingyas in the Nuh district of Haryana, the police have already begun compiling information about migrant workers in the state.
In addition, the police are looking into the role played by migrant workers in the recent communal violence in the Nuh and Gurugram districts of Haryana that began on July 31 and resulted in the deaths of six people and left 88 injured.
“We are verifying antecedents along with their alleged involvement in the communal clashes,” SP Nuh, Narender Birjaniya told IANS.
The people of Tarau in Nuh, meanwhile, had claimed that they had Assam and Bengali identification cards and had established their settlements in Nuh years earlier during the demolition effort against shanties there last week. Additionally, they had asserted that they were not a part of the violence.
In the meantime, it’s been reported that the Nuh police have started using drones to track down the accused who is still at large and gather evidence.
“The IDs must be validated for legal reasons. Whether or whether they took part in riots. It will become clear following a thorough inquiry. If someone is found to be culpable during the investigation, they would face heavy punishment. The police have pleaded with the local sarpanches to assist anyone who was involved in the recent violence surrender before the police rather than apprehend them,” Birjaniya said.
In addition, following a Thursday confrontation in Tauru, the Haryana Police detained two people for their alleged participation in recent violence.
According to the authorities, the accused are Munfed and Saikul – who is from Gwarka village in Nuh district.
In the 57 FIRs that have been filed so far, the police have detained over 188 accused individuals.
