Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital on Saturday to discuss the allocation of seats for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
The two leaders, currently stationed in the New Delhi for the third consecutive day, engaged in discussions with Amit Shah at his residence. This marked their second meeting since March 7.
As per reports, the BJP invited the TDP to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Notably, the TDP, which had ended its affiliation with the NDA in 2018, is expected to participate in an upcoming meeting of the NDA.
Reports further suggested that the three parties have finalised the seat sharing agreement and an official announcement is likely to be made later today. The TDP and Jana Sena have formally agreed on a seat sharing arrangement, with the TDP allocating 24 out of 175 Assembly seats and three out of 25 Lok Sabha seats to Jana Sena.

The TDP has unveiled its initial roster of 94 candidates, with Jana Sena revealing a lineup of five candidates. Jana Sena, a member of the BJP-led NDA, forged an alliance with the TDP in September of last year. N. Chandrababu Naidu held discussions with Amit Shah and BJP Pchief J. P. Nadda in Delhi on February 7 regarding the alliance.
The TDP, which terminated its alliance with the BJP in 2018, has shown interest in rekindling the partnership following a significant defeat in the 2019 elections. Despite this, the BJP has remained indifferent to N. Chandrababu Naidu’s attempts, as the Jagan government in the state has maintained a positive relationship with the Modi government at the Centre and has supported it in passing various crucial bills in Parliament.
Notably, the 2024 Lok Sabha and assembly polls will be held simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh.
