Something similar happened once, when an angry Dharmendra had allegedly slapped Govinda, who was the top star of Bollywood during the 1900s. According to reports, the reason for his anger at Govinda was his wife, Hema Malini.

Dharmendra was upset by Govinda’s actions
This incident dates back to the 1990s, when Govinda was enjoying a good time in Bollywood. He was signed for the film ‘Awaargi’, directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Hema Malini. Meenakshi Seshadri was cast opposite Govinda – also known by is nickname ‘Chichi’ – in this film.
Govinda had agreed to work in the film, but the film makers also decided to contact veteran star Anil Kapoor for a prominet role. According to media reports, the makers made slight changes to the story and added Anil Kapoor. When Govinda came to know of this development, he was very upset.
Reports suggest that Govinda decided to leave the film because of the other actor. This decision was a shock for the production team, who were already facing difficulties in synchronising the schedules of the actors. Reports suggest that Hema Malini informed Dharmendra of this and asked him to convince Govinda. Dharmendra agreed for the sake of his wife.

Dharmendra arranged a private meeting for Govinda
Reports suggest that Dharmendra arranged a private meeting with Govinda to discuss and convince him. He patiently tried to persuade Hero No. 1 Govinda to change his decision, but his efforts were in vain. Dharmendra reportedly lost his temper due to Govinda’s stubborn nature and slapped the actor.
When this news spread like wildfire in the media, Dharmendra dismissed it as mere rumors. Govinda and Dharmendra share a very good relationship. When 89-year-old Dharmendra was admitted to the hospital, Govinda visited him at Breach Candy Hospital.
