Early this morning, the Indian Army stopped an attempt at infiltration in the Battal area of Jammu and Kashmir.
Around three in the morning, the terrorists launched their attack, and the Indian Army’s XVI Corps said in a statement that a soldier was hurt during the gunfight.
In the last two days, there have been two terror incidents reported from the Jammu region. The attempt at infiltration occurs in the midst of a wave of terror attacks, the most of which occurred in Jammu.

General Upendra Dwivedi, the chief of the Indian Army, visited the Union territory on Sunday and spoke with officials on how to handle the sudden spike in terrorist attacks in an area that had been free of terrorism only a few years prior.
The terrorists assaulted an army base in Rajouri and the home of a Village Defence Guard, a Shaurya Chakra recipient who played a key role in eliminating two terrorists in the previous year, within a day of his arrival.
Early on Monday morning, gunfire wounded one soldier, but the attackers were forced to retreat due to a fierce counterattack by the Indian Army.
