Following a few provocative remarks criticizing Bollywood, Rishab Shetty, who just won the National Award for his outstanding Kantara, is experiencing a social media backlash.
In a now-viral video, Shetty criticized Bollywood and claims that it portrays India negatively in an interview with MetroSaga.
The actor claimed, “India is portrayed negatively in Indian films, particularly in Bollywood.” These art flicks get red carpet treatment and invitations to international events. My pride in my country, my state, and my language. Why not approach it from a global perspective, which is what I attempt to do.”
He was ridiculed back by internet users who brought up an incident in which he grabbed a woman’s waist without her permission.
Shetty announced on Friday that he will no longer be producing “festival type” movies. Shetty was honored with the Best Actor Award at the 70th National Film Awards. Rahul Rawail, the head of the feature film jury, announced the national awards on Friday in New Delhi. The greatest movies from 2022 were honored with these honors.
“We have festival premieres and accolades, but we don’t receive any recognition for that. We are compelled to post Kannada content on YouTube channels since OTT platforms do not purchase it. That’s it from me. We don’t recover from these kinds of movies,” Shetty remarked.

According to Shetty, he has previously worked on three festival films. “There are two more in the works: Pedro and Vagchipani. These were the films I produced because they gave me everything. I desired to repay it in some way.
He continued, “I believe I will watch how it plays out in the future.”
By the way, “Kantara” took home the prize for Best Popular Film Offering Wholesome Entertainment.
