Karan Johar finally breaks his silence on Kangana's 'Movie Mafia' comment

Karan Johar: In a recent interview, filmmaker Karan Johar finally addressed actress Kangana Ranaut’s controversial statement in which she referred to him as the “movie mafia.” While he did not directly mention her name, Johar responded to the comment in a subtle yet powerful manner.

The feud between Johar and Ranaut has been making waves in the industry for quite some time now. It began when Ranaut appeared on Johar’s talk show, “Koffee with Karan,” and openly criticized him for promoting nepotism in Bollywood. This led to a heated exchange of words between the two, with Ranaut accusing Johar of being part of a movie mafia that hinders outsiders from getting opportunities in the industry.

n the recent interview, when asked about the movie mafia remark, Johar replied, “All I had to be was resilient at that time because I had to be strong for my own mom and for myself. You feel kind of naked after that has happened. Abhi toh kapde utaar diye hai sabne. Abhi kya chupana. They don’t know the person I am. They just made this perception of mafia or something they keep talking about. They don’t know how a producer on a dally basis is trying to get his or her cast.”

Although Johar did not explicitly mention Ranaut’s name or directly respond to her allegations, his choice of words speaks volumes. It suggests that he believes Ranaut’s comment, along with the ongoing debate on nepotism, has led to a clear division within the industry, with individuals taking sides and their true intentions being exposed.

It is worth noting that Johar, as a prominent filmmaker and producer, has been at the center of several nepotism debates. Many have accused him of promoting star kids and giving them unwarranted advantages in the industry. Ranaut has been vocal about her own experiences as an outsider and has been actively challenging the established norms in Bollywood.
