West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is set to be the only INDI Allaince leader to attend a NITI Aayog meet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 27. Other attendees are expected to be chief ministers from states ruled by the BJP.
A number of chief ministers have assembled in New Delhi for the important NITI Aayog meeting.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the summit, at which time each state will get a chance to voice its urgent concerns. Under PM Modi’s direction, a number of state-specific issues will be discussed.
Regarding the meeting, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told the media, “Goa is actively participating and has also announced 10% reservations under the Agniveer scheme for uniformed services.”
“Viksit Bharat@2047,” the meeting’s main subject, focuses on imagining India as a developed country by 2047. The approach paper for this vision document will be discussed, with PM Modi presiding over the proceedings. Chief Ministers from every state ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be present today, but opposition leaders have declined to go, blaming the “raw deal” that was given to them in the Union Budget.
Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, is the only state leader of the INDIA bloc parties who would be present at the summit.

At the NITI Aayog conference on Saturday, July 27, in Delhi, Mamata Banerjee declared that she will be staging a protest against the political prejudice Bengal has been subjected to.
Following Congress-ruled states like Himachal Pradesh’s Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Karnataka’s Siddaramaiah, and Telangana’s Revanth Reddy, the boycott was started by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.
The chief ministers of Jharkhand and Kerala, Hemant Soren and Pinarayi Vijayan, respectively, as well as the Punjab administration, led by the Aam Aadmi Party and headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, have also chosen not to attend.
