Arvind Limbavali, a former state Cabinet minister and party leader, embarrassed the BJP in Karnataka by declaring that his organization had “totally failed as an opposition”.
“It is regrettable that there has been no harmony and understanding between our party’s state president (B.Y. Vijayendra) who is also an MLA and the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly (R. Ashoka),” he stated.
Taking to social media platform X, Limbavali, who is seen as being connected to RSS, stated: “Misuse of funds allocated for SC-ST grants for guarantee program money, MUDA fraud, Valmiki Development Corporation scam… No matter has been able to be resolved logically by our party.
“The opposition leaders did not adequately convey their positions on these matters either. People have begun to question whether the opposition party was associated with the ruling party as a result of this. stated Limbavali.
The BJP leader claimed that the controversy surrounding the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) issue was intended to draw attention.
The former minister informed the media that the BJP, which was meant to represent the people by calling attention to the shortcomings of the state government, had completely failed in its role as an opposition party.
He stated that while “the BJP had an opportunity to highlight the government’s row of scandals, mismanagement and failures in the House, our leaders have completely failed to seize this opportunity” .
“Many districts are affected by dengue, including Bengaluru, which is regarded as the IT-BT hub and a national model in science. Millions of people have lost their homes in numerous parts of the state as a result of flooding and excessive rain. It is regrettable that the leaders of our party did not think it appropriate to address this and speak for the state’s suffering citizens.” stated Limabavali.

“The action of our party leaders, who did not utilise the opportunity and time in the House adequately, spent the whole session in vain and joined hands with the ruling party in curtailing the proceedings of the House when there was still one day left, is questionable,” he added.
“All things considered, the BJP has been a total failure in this session as the opposition. A fundamental question for all honest and diligent ‘karyakartas’ is how the BJP, led by these leaders, can participate in significant struggles in the days ahead given their conduct during the session.
“I am very worried and disappointed to see this condition of our party, which was once roaring in the sessions and responding to people’s aspirations even when we had a very low number of seats,” he said.
Arvind Limbavali was not given a ticket by the party for the Bengaluru assembly seat of Mahadevapura in the 2023 elections. His wife, Manjula Arvind Limbavali, was given a ticket by the party, and she triumphed by a margin of 44,501 votes.
