Lok Sabha Election: Tight security in place to ensure smooth vote counting on June 4

Fool-proof security arrangements have been made at all vote counting centres across India as the Lok Sabha election 2024 results are set to be declared on June 4.

The counting of votes for all 543 Lok Sabha constituencies will begin at 8 am by the officials of the Election Commission of India.

Citizens across the country are eagerly awaiting the outcome of the Lok Sabha election that will determine the formation of the next government at the Centre.

Apart from the official Election Commission website, vote counting trends and results will be available on the voter helpline app which can be downloaded from play stores, official sources said.

Results for the assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha and by-elections to assembly constituencies will also be declared on the same day.

In the national capital, all arrangements have been made for the counting of votes and the EVMs will be brought from the strongroom for each round of counting according to the rules, ensuring complete transparency in the vote counting process of the Lok Sabha election 2024.

A poll panel official told media persons that the counting centres will have a three-layer security system in Delhi.

“The outer limits will be manned by the Delhi Police, the middle layer will be under by the reserved battalions of the Delhi Police and the internal layer will be manned by the security personnel. “Adequate number of security personnel will be deployed for the exercise,” said the official.

This time, the contest is bipolar for the first time in 15 years in the nation Capital.

The Lok Sabha elections were held from 19 April to 1 June 2024 in seven phases.

In its first of a kind, the Election Commission has convened a presser on the conclusion of an election.

Meanwhile, several exit polls have projected the BJP-led NDA as the winner, ensuring third consecutive term as Prime Minister to Narendra Modi.
