On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that no one could silence the voice of the 140 million citizens who have endorsed his National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.
In his annual media statement prior to the 2024 Budget Session, Prime Minister Modi stated that attempts were made to muzzle the voice of the administration, which has been elected with a majority by the nation’s 140 crore voters, in the first session of parliament following the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“An attempt was made to silence the prime minister’s voice for 2.5 hours. The nation’s citizens have sent us, not the party, but the nation. This Parliament is for the country, not for the party,” PM Modi stated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also urged the Congress-led Opposition to put aside their “past bitterness” and unite in support of the nation.
Before the 2024 Budget Session, in his regular media conference, Prime Minister Modi stated, “Some parties are doing negative politics. Let’s put the past behind us and work together to advance the nation. Let go of the animosity.”
A day prior to the 2024 Union Budget’s unveiling, Prime Minister Modi declared that the Budget will establish the course for the ensuing five years and build the groundwork for realizing the aspiration of “Viksit Bharat” in 2047.
“Amrit Kaal’s budget is significant in this regard. The duration of our five-year mandate will be determined by the budget. Viksit Bharat’s foundation would be laid by this budget,” according to PM Modi.
“It is an honor that a government has taken office three times in sixty years and will present the first budget three times. Our goal is to implement the promises I have been making to the nation’s citizens,” he continued.
The first complete budget of the recently elected NDA administration will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 23, the second day of the Parliament’s budget session.

The Department of Economic Affairs, working with the Chief Economic Advisor, has produced the Economic Survey 2023–24, which FM Sitharaman will present on Monday, July 22. The Union Budget 2024 will receive direction and advice from the Economic Survey.
The Prime Minister also stated in his speech on Monday that India’s economy is the fastest-growing major economy in the world, with growth rates of 8% for some time now.
“This is Sawan’s first Monday. On this auspicious day, an important session is about to begin. Greetings on this first Monday of Sawan to my fellow citizens. Today marks the beginning of Parliament’s monsoon session. The entire nation is examining it today. This ought to be a productive meeting,” he declared.
