The anticipated fantastic fairytale start to Rishabh Pant’s emotional return to competitive cricket was not achieved. Pant, who hasn’t played in 453 days, made 18 runs for Delhi Capitals against Punjab Kings on Saturday in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match.

Pant attempted to accelerate as the speed was dropped to 123 kmph, but he instead tossed it to Jonny Bairstow at backward point. Pant was understandably furious with himself as he turned to go.
