Xiaomi 15 Pro camera features leaked; know tantalizing details

The primary camera on the Xiaomi 15 Pro, which is anticipated to be a member of the company’s Xiaomi 15 series, may have a 1-inch sensor.

When the Chinese smartphone maker releases the Xiaomi 14 series successor later this year, it may make some significant adjustments to the sensors, according to a tipster who disclosed the specifics of the smartphone’s rear camera configuration.t

In addition to its cameras, the Xiaomi 15 Pro is said to be the first phone to use the next Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipsets.

The Xiaomi 15 Pro might include a triple back camera configuration like its predecessor, but the sensors might be improved, according to a post on Weibo by tipster Experience More. According to the source, the main camera may be a 50-megapixel OV50K with a 1-inch sensor.

Although the OmniVision sensor has not yet been formally released, it is said to be an improvement over the OV50H sensor that is already found in the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra and iQOO 12 series. Significantly, the Xiaomi 13 Pro had a 1-inch sensor by default; but, with its sequel, the smartphone manufacturer replaced it with a Light Hunter 900 sensor that was fitted with a special Leica Summilux lens.

The telephoto lens of the Xiaomi 15 Pro is also expected to be upgraded. The tipster claims that it may include a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor instead of the Samsung ISOCELL JN1.

According to the source in the post, the Sony sensor offers fair value in terms of technical features and power consumption, but its resolution is a little below standard.

The report also mentioned that the aperture size—which is currently unknown—will determine the overall performance. It is also reported to be a 50-megapixel camera, though no information regarding the ultra-wide-angle camera’s sensor is available.

Xiaomi 15 Series features

A previous rumor said that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset may be found in the Xiaomi 15 series smartphones.

The chipset is rumored to have “exclusive first launch rights” with the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, who may use the flagship series to promote it.

The Oppo Find X8 and Vivo X200 are rumored to be two other phones that could be released with the same processor shortly after.

Separately, according to another report, the Xiaomi 15 series may gain an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which would provide greater security and be an improvement above the optical fingerprint sensor found in the Xiaomi 14 series.
