Asia Cup 2023: Kuldeep Yadav on cloud nine after win over Pakistan

Kuldeep Yadav shone with the ball as India thrashed Pakistan by a massive margin of 228 runs in a Super Four clash at the Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Monday

Asia Cup 2023: Star left-arm Kuldeep Yadav asserted that he will always remember his five-wicket performance against the archrivals after breaking the back of Pakistan’s batting line-up in their Super Four match at the Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on Monday.

Team India defeated Pakistan by a hefty margin of 228 runs in their Super Four match at the Asia Cup 2023 thanks to Kuldeep Yadav’s wizardry with the ball, which gave him a well-earned 5-wicket haul.

“If you take 5 wickets against a big team, you always remember that. Whenever I stop playing cricket, I will always remember that I had taken 5 wickets against Pakistan. This is a big thing because if you perform well against sides who play good spin, it motivates you a lot,” Kuldeep said in a post-match press conference.

India and Pakistan’s highly anticipated Super Four match at the Asia Cup was extended into a Monday reserved day after rain wiped away the entirety of Sunday’s play.

“It becomes a bit difficult to play when the game gets disrupted due to rain. Players always have to be ready to play if the conditions allow. We were all excited to play and complete the game. I was just thinking about bowling at a good length. Focusing on rhythm and this is more important for me and a bit more aggressive as well,” Kuldeep added.

“Since the injury, the run-up has become straight and the rhythm has become aggressive. After surgery, everything was very frustrating for me because I was out for 5 months. I am really happy with my performance. One and a half year has been amazing, I was not thinking about the playing XI. Just enjoying my bowling. I have been working on length because it matters a lot,” said the spinner.

Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Kuldeep Yadav all scored centuries as India defeated Pakistan by a score of 228 runs in the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match on Monday at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

India defeated Pakistan by a margin of 228 runs thanks to Kuldeep’s second ODI five-for; Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf opted not to bat in the Pakistani chase. India won the top slot in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s standings with their huge victory.

Earlier, in their Asia Cup Super Four match against Pakistan, India scored 356/2 thanks to Virat Kohli’s legendary performance and KL Rahul’s unrestrained century.

The half-centuries by India’s captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill set the stage, and Kohli and Rahul’s unbroken 233-run partnership served as the cherry on top as the former skipper completed the innings with a maximum.

Rahul hit a scorching 111 off of 106 balls, while Kohli concluded his innings with an unbeaten 122 from 94 deliveries.
