Tuesday’s conversation between Czech Republic Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky and India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar focused on bilateral ties as well as significant global problems.
The minister took to his official Twitter handle and said, “Pleased to speak to FM @JanLipavsky of Czech Republic. A good conversation on our bilateral ties, on important global issues and on our multilateral cooperation.”
Jaishankar further said that he is looking forward to seeing Czech’s counterpart at the 78th United Nations General Assembly.
“Look forward to seeing him at #UNGA78,” the tweet added.
On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, the United Nations General Assembly’s (UNGA 78) 78th session will begin. According to SDG Knowledge Hub, a project of the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), the first day of the high-level general debate will take place on September 19.
A world where people and the environment coexist is the goal of IISD, an independent think tank. The SDG Knowledge Hub is an online information hub for news about the adoption of the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by the United Nations.
Moreover, UNGA 78 President-elect Dennis Francis informed Member States that the theme of the General Assembly’s 78th session will be “Rebuilding trust and reigniting global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and sustainability for all.”
Jan Lipavsky visited India earlier this year on a three-day official visit that was intended to advance bilateral ties between India and the Czech Republic.
Jaishankar and Lipavsky talked about commercial, defence, space, and educational potential between India and the Czech Republic.
The two also discussed the expanding India-EU partnership and convergence on supply chain dependability, as well as digital trust and transparency.
According to a press statement from the Ministry of External Affairs, Lipavsky was also accompanied by members of the Czech Republic’s parliament, the deputy minister for science, research, and innovation, as well as a high-ranking official and business delegation.
