BJP report attempts to explain Lok Sabha setback in Uttar Pradesh

According to the BJP report, the party’s vote share has decreased by at least 8% in each of the state’s six regions: Western Uttar Pradesh, Braj, Kanpur-Bundelkhand, Awadh, Gorakhpur, and Kashi.

In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP secured just 33 of the 80 Lok Sabha seats, a sharp down from the 62 seats it had secured in 2019.

The Samajwadi Party and the Congress in Uttar Pradesh led the opposition INDIA group, which won 43 seats.

In the West UP and Kashi regions, where it won just eight of the 28 seats, the saffron party did the worst.

Eight of the thirteen seats in Braj, six of the thirteen seats in Gorakhpur, seven of the sixteen seats in Awadh, and just four of the ten seats in the Kanpur-Bundelkhand area were won by the BJP.
