Hotel rates sky rocket ahead of ICC World Cup 2023
Fans are already booking hotel rooms for the match between India and Pakistan. Hotel room rates for October 15 are skyrocketing in Ahmedabad.
According to media reports, the prices of hotel rooms in Ahmedabad for October 15 have increased more than 20 times and have crossed Rs 59,000.
ITC’s Welcome Hotel in Ahmedabad is charging Rs 72,000 per room for match day. There is not a single room vacant in many big hotels of the city on the day of the match.
Big move by cricket fans
Cricket fans have figured out the trick. They have started booking beds in the hospitals of Ahmedabad for the day of match between India and Pakistan.
Dr Paras Shah, who works at a hospital in the city, told Ahmedabad Mirror that people are booking overnight rooms for full body checkups in hospitals to save on room charges. Dr. Paras Shah said that fans are ready to stay in any room from deluxe to suite to watch Indo-Pak match. He said that his hospital has limited rooms, so he is careful in accepting advance bookings from NRIs. He said that his priority is patient care and he does not want to take away rooms from patients who need them. Same is the situation in many other hospitals as well.
