Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh has expressed his deep anguish and vowed to take decisive action in the case of the viral video from Manipur, where two tribal women were brutally paraded naked by a group of men. One of the survivor who was lucky enough to escape said that “When we resisted, they told me , if you don’t take off your clothes we will kill you. We were forced to take off our clothes in order to protect ourselves. Then as we obeyed them the men slapped and punched us.” She further said that “the men dragged us to a paddy field asked her to lie down and as soon as she did , three men surrounded her and one of them said the other ‘let’s rape her’, but eventually they did not.”

Chief Minister Biren Singh condemned the shocking incident in the strongest terms, labeling it an act of absolute barbarity and a grave violation of human rights. He expressed his deep concern and sorrow over the incident, promising that his government would leave no stone unturned in seeking justice for the victims and punishing the perpetrators.

However the police has arrested main suspect Heradas who is 32 years old in the Thoubal district and Manipur CM has assured that he will take strict action regarding the culprits in the video saying that all the efforts will be made for death penalty.
