Pakistan, China using Rohingya to fuel drug problem in India

Drugs have no religion, no caste, but this problem is fast catching up with the Indian youth. The problem is huge. Drugs are being used as a weapon in the war against India. This conspiracy has been busted in many intelligence reports.

The conspiracy is to destroy the young generation of India. For this, drugs are being supplied from street shops to schools and colleges. Recently the trend of Yaba drug has increased rapidly. The seizure of this drug has increased by 235% in the last 6 years in the country.

There are many anti-India forces behind this – drug smugglers from Myanmar and Bangladesh, Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, terrorist organization Indian Mujahideen (IM), China and Rohingya refugees.

Rohingyas who infiltrate into India bring with them the yaba drug on a large scale. The raw material to make this drug is supplied from China. The drug is made in the border areas of Myanmar and Bangladesh adjacent to India, then Rohingya infiltrators smuggle these into India.

Selling drugs and indulging in anti-India activities with that money, creating a complete channel for selling narcotics – all this is done by ISI and IM. With their help, Rohingyas are becoming big drug smugglers. Their infiltration in India is also being seen as a conspiracy to change the demography at various places. As experts say, the growing number of Rohingyas is creating a radical force which could become a breeding ground for terrorism in the times to come.

Supply of raw materials for drugs from China

According to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), yaba is derived from the drug stimulant chemical amphetamine or methamphetamine. Caffeine is added to it. The World Drug Report of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) states that yaba is produced on a large scale in Myanmar and Bangladesh.

The raw material for this comes from China, because there pharmaceutical companies manufacture chemicals on a large scale. These chemicals are meant for making medicines, but smugglers make yaba drugs out of the same.

Methamphetamine can also be bought online in China, according to officials. With the export of bikes etc. from China, the chemical of Yaba drug reaches Myanmar. Making this drug is also easy. In a small lab, 10,000 tablets can be made in a few hours.

After the Golden Triangle, now the Golden Pentagon Route

The ‘Golden Triangle’, once infamous for the drug trade, has now turned into the ‘Golden Pentagon’. That is, along with Laos, Myanmar and Thailand, now Malaysia and Indonesia have also joined their route. In such a situation, the challenges have increased. The way the situation is in Myanmar, there is a possibility of a large number of refugees coming to India and drug smuggling can also increase through them.

Different smuggling routes

There are many routes to smuggle yaba into India. First, drugs are brought into India from Myanmar through Vihang and Churachandpur, located near the border in Manipur. Second, it is brought through Parva, located near the border in Mizoram, as there is no fencing in that area. Smugglers know from which hill to come, how to go to Churachandpur and Imphal, from there to Guwahati – they know all the routes. Rohingyas enter India along with the drug mafia.

Rohingya reach Kolkata, Mumbai and Bihar from Sittwe and Maungdaw in Myanmar, Benapole, Teknaf and Jessore in Bangladesh, according to reports by United States International Development and Wenrock International. From here they are also pushed into prostitution. According to Bangladesh affairs expert Dr. Sanjay Bhardwaj, crossing the river from Teknaf, they enter Bangladesh and reach India via Murshidabad and Farakka via Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar, Khagrachhadi.

According to the Narcotics Control Bureau, the Yaba drug reaches other parts of the country via West Bengal after coming into India from the borders with the northeastern states. A large number of youths in the North Eastern states are addicted to this drug. In the last five years, this drug has been seized in many parts of the country including Delhi-NCR.

“Rohingyas have come to India illegally. They have no legal validity to stay here. Rohingya refugees are a problem for India, they use many resources of India. Many of these people are those who have connection with drugs and illegal weapons. Myanmar government should take them back as soon as possible. The Golden Triangle is a volatile region. Rohingyas were caught many times in drugs. As far as I know, Rohingyas are involved in drug trade,” Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) JS Sodhi told the media.

Rohingya refugees’ journey from Bengal to Delhi and Mumbai

Rohingyas who bring Yaba drug to India live in hiding among the Muslim community in Coochbehar, Malda, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Uttar Dinajpur and South Dinajpur districts of West Bengal. In other places including Darjeeling, they get fake certificates for three to four thousand rupees through brokers.

The Rohingya criminals use the North-East Corridor in Siliguri to go to Delhi, Mumbai etc. after infiltrating into Assam.

According to official sources, in the last two-three years, more than a dozen Rohingyas have been arrested in Siliguri and surrounding areas. On 16 March 2022, seven Rohingyas were arrested by the Railway Police. Six Rohingyas were arrested from Khoribari near Siliguri on February 9, 2019.

Rohingya deep-rooted in Uttar Pradesh

The UP ATS raided 6 districts of Uttar Pradesh including Ghaziabad and Mathura on the night of July 23 and arrested 74 Rohingyas living illegally. Women and children were also among those arrested. They had come to India illegally by crossing the border from Bangladesh and were living in slums in Uttar Pradesh.

In the investigation, information about more than 1,700 Rohingyas camping in Uttar Pradesh have come to the fore. The UP ATS is specially investigating them.

In the last two years, many gangs involved in infiltrating on contract have been caught. After bringing Rohingyas to the border of India with the help of fake documents, they are registered with UNHRC, then they are given shelter in different districts by changing their identity. They have settled in Aligarh, Unnao, Agra, Kanpur, Mathura and other districts in the state. They are especially employed in meat factories and cleaning work. After coming to India, they change their identity and move to Gulf countries as well.

How many Rohingyas in India?

There are 18,000 Rohingya refugees in India, according to data from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in October 2018. Two-thirds of them are in Hyderabad and Jammu. Others are living in Delhi and other cities. There are about 40,000 Rohingyas in India, according to information given in the Lok Sabha in 2017 by the then Minister of State for Home Affairs.

Rohingya becoming drugs and arms smugglers

“Rohingyas are a big problem – for us as well as for Myanmar. These people wanted to merge with Pakistan in 1947, but Pakistan itself got scared. Now Rohingyas have become the biggest drug and arms smugglers. They have revolted against Myanmar. Since the government of Myanmar has taken action against them, they are trying to come to India. India will have to take them out,” Major General (Retired) GD Bakshi said.
