The Indian Consulate in New York announced on Friday that an Indian student has passed away in the US state of Ohio and that an inquiry is being conducted to determine the cause of death.
The student was studying in Cleveland, Ohio, and went by the name Uma Satya Sai Gadde. The Indian Consulate sent its sincere condolences to the deceased’s family and expressed its deep sadness over the loss. They promised to provide the family with all the support they could during this difficult time, even if it meant helping to get his body to India.
This tragic incident in Ohio is another in a troubling string of Indian-origin student deaths in the United States. In March, another Indian student, Mohammed Abdul Arafat, vanished from the Cleveland area under suspicious circumstances, and his family later received a telephone call demanding a ransom to free him.
