India’s Anush Aggarwalla won the bronze medal in the individual dressage event of the equestrian competition at the Hangzhou Asian Games on Thursday. Aggarwalla, riding on ‘Atro’, scored 73.030 points, which placed him third and thus won his second medal at the Asiad. Earlier, Aggarwala, along with Chheda, Divyakriti Singh, and Sudipti Hajela, had won India the gold medal in the dressage team event after 41 years.
Other winners of equestrian in Asian Games
Bin Mohd Fathil Mohd Kabil Ambab of Malaysia won the gold medal with a total score of 75.780 points and Jacqueline Wing Ying Siu of Hong Kong won the silver medal with a total score of 73.450 points. Hriday Vipul Chheda, the other Indian participating in this event, could not reach the medal event and was eliminated. On Wednesday, Hriday had secured the first position in qualifying.

Historic for India
This is India’s first medal in the equestrian individual dressage event of the Asian Games in 37 years. This horse-riding event has been organized in the Asian Games since 1986. For the first time in 37 years, India has won a medal in an individual dressage event. Anush created history.
