India’s win over Sri Lanka was another one-sided victory, just as in the Asia Cup semi-final where they dismissed Sri Lanka for 50 runs.

In this match, India batted first and scored 357 runs while losing eight wickets in 50 overs. Shubman Gill played the highest innings of 92 runs, followed by Virat Kohli with 88 and Shreyas Iyer with 82 runs. Sri Lanka’s Dilshan Madushanka took five wickets. IND vs SL first innings
India’s Innings: India had a shaky start to their innings, with captain Rohit Sharma being dismissed by Dilshan Madushanka in just the second ball. Rohit could only score four runs. Subsequently, Virat Kohli formed an 189-run partnership for the second wicket with Shubman Gill before Madushanka broke the partnership by dismissing Gill. Shubman managed to score 92 runs from 92 balls before getting out, including 11 boundaries and two sixes. Virat Kohli also missed his century, getting dismissed by Madushanka after scoring 88 runs.
Following that, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul built a solid partnership of 60 runs in 46 balls. Rahul was dismissed for 21 runs in 19 balls by Dushmantha Chameera. Suryakumar Yadav couldn’t contribute much, scoring 12 runs from nine balls before getting out. Shreyas Iyer scored a well-crafted 82 runs in 56 balls, hitting three boundaries and six sixes. Mohammad Shami scored two runs before getting out, and Ravindra Jadeja played a quick innings of 35 runs from 24 balls, including one boundary and one six. The Indian innings came to an end with Jadeja’s dismissal on the last ball. Madushanka took five wickets for Sri Lanka, while Chameera claimed one.

Sri Lanka’s Innings: Sri Lanka’s innings never really got going as they lost their first wicket in the very first ball, with Patum Nissanka falling to Jasprit Bumrah. Then, Siraj picked up Dimuth Karunaratne and Sadeera Samarawickrama in the next over. Captain Mendis was also dismissed after scoring just one run.
After losing four wickets for three runs, Mathews and Asalanka tried to revive Sri Lanka’s hopes but couldn’t sustain them for long. Shami came in and took wickets, sealing India’s victory. In the end, Jadeja dismissed Madushanka, bringing an end to Sri Lanka’s innings.
