Lok Sabha Election 2024: BJP leaders in Karnataka are unhappy about the first list of 20 candidates declared by the party for the Lok Sabha elections, with a couple saying they will defect to the Congress.
K S Eshwarappa, the former deputy chief minister and ardent admirer of the RSS, has rebelled against the organisation.
When the high command revealed a week ago the list of candidates, Eshwarappa went all out to defeat B S Yediyurappa, the former chief minister and member of the BJP parliamentary board, on behalf of his son K E Kantesh.

The party fielded incumbent MLA and former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai from the Haveri Lok Sabha constituency, despite the BJP leader’s request for a ticket for his son.
Disturbed by the turn of events, Eshwarappa said that he would run against Yediyurappa’s elder son, B Y Vijayendra, in the Shivamogga polls as a protest against “dynastic politics in Karnataka.”
Eshwarappa informed the media that Karnataka’s BJP is in dire straits.
“Although the workers and general public support the BJP, this place has a poor system. There is only one family controlling the Congress party. One family controls the federal Congress, including Rahul and Sonia Gandhi. It’s the same in Karnataka. One family is under the BJP’s grip in Karnataka. We have to protest this,” the 75-year-old BJP leader declared.
Former Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda has unexpectedly declared his strong intention to run in the Lok Sabha elections, notwithstanding his prior reluctance.
He even made a suggestion on Tuesday that he would think about running for office and that he would announce his choice at a news conference on Wednesday.
Karadi Sanganna, a two-term BJP MLA in Koppal, is angry that he wasn’t given a ticket. It has been decided by the party to field Dr. Basavaraj Kyavator.
“No decision has been taken yet,” an irate Sanganna stated, adding that he is in contact with Congress leaders as well.
