MS Dhoni, the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has arrived at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, known as his second home, to begin preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.
The official social media account of CSK posted a heartening video showcasing the jubilant atmosphere on the streets of Chennai as the team bus made its way. The locals erupted in excitement upon spotting the star players en route to the practice session from the team hotel.
CSK’s social media account also posted a nostalgic image of Dhoni, evoking memories of his iconic long-haired look, as he engaged in batting practice. The official handle captioned the post with, “The vintage hair. The timeless emotion. Mahi aara hai.”

Earlier on Tuesday (March 5), Dhoni touched down in Chennai ahead of IPL 2024, to link up with the CSK squad. The charismatic CSK captain landed directly from Jamnagar, Gujarat, where he participated in the three-day pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

Before Dhoni, CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad and all-rounder Deepak Chahar reunited with the team ahead of the 17th edition of the IPL. Notably, defending champions CSK was one of the earliest teams to initiate their pre-season camp, with players beginning to regroup for training.
Dhoni is often hailed as the most exceptional captain in the history of the cash-rich league, having led CSK to an astounding five titles in the past fifteen years. The Chennai Super Kings are the current champions of the IPL, having won the title against the Gujarat Titans in a thrilling final at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad last year.
The upcoming IPL season is expected to be Dhoni’s final appearance, once again stirring anticipation among the CSK fans, who are eager to make every stadium he plays in a memorable occasion by showing their immense support.
