India in command after 2nd day despite West Indies fight back

India vs West Indies: The second match of the 2-match Test series between India and West Indies is being played at Queen’s Park in Trinidad. The dominance of the Indian team has been seen on the second day of the game.

West Indies made a strong comeback with some defiant batting towards the end of the second day’s play. India were all out for 438 while West Indies were at 86/1 at the end of the second day. On the first day of the match, Team India’s run machine Virat Kohli returned to the return pavilion after scoring 87 runs. In such a situation, he scored a century on the second day.

Virat Kohli scored 76th Test century

Virat Kohli scored his 76th international century and 29th century in Tests against the West Indies. King Kohli had hit 11 fours in his innings of 121 runs. This was the first century from Kohli’s bat on foreign soil after almost 5 years. He had earlier scored a century against Australia in Parth in 2018.

This was Kohli’s third century in 2023. Virat had also played a good inning of 76 runs in the first Test but he could not convert it into a century.

Jadeja, Ashwin also hit half-centuries

Indian team’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja supported Virat Kohli a lot on the pitch and also completed his half-century. There was a great partnership of 159 runs between Kohli and Jaddu. Jadeja scored 61 runs in 152 balls with the help of 5 fours.

At the same time, after Kohli-Jadeja, coming at the end, Ravichandran Ashwin also won everyone’s heart with his batting. He proved once again that he is a wonderful batsman as well as a bowler. He scored 56 runs in 78 balls hitting 8 fours. After the fall of the last wicket in the form of Ashwin, Team India was all out after scoring 438 runs.

West Indies fightback

The West Indies cricket team got a chance to play only 41 overs on the second day of the match. In those 41 overs, the Caribbean team thoroughly tired and oiled the Indian bowlers.

By the end of the day only 1 wicket had fallen and West Indies scored 86 runs. That one success hit the hands of Ravindra Jadeja. He made Tejnarine Chanderpaul walk for 33 runs. At the same time, captain Kraigg Brathwaite (37) and Kirk McKenzie (14) are standing on the pitch for the West Indies.
