Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2023 : Procam International, the organizer of the 18th Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon, unveiled the arrangements, including medical facilities and route, for the more than 35,000 participants at a media conference at Jawaharlal Nehru on Sunday October 15th. “We’ve reached the point where the new courses are working great and actually probably a little bit better than the ones that were there before. It’s a bit faster and also allows the top racers to have a better racing experience. We are also now back on the Kartavya track as we had to do a small detour and it is really great for the race. We can’t wait to see the nation’s capital hit the starting line,” said AIMS General Secretary and VDHM 2023 Competition Director Hugh Jones.
“Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon is a sustainable race with zero waste to landfill. Everything is recycled in various ways after the race and in line with this theme, this year there is a new initiative where you can cycle to the race, park and cycle back. And most importantly , this initiative is supported by Delhi Metro services from 3:45 AM onwards. All stations are active. On the day of the race, the marathon spirit that permeates and influences organizations like Delhi Metro is on display,” said Vivek Singh, Procam International et al.

Runners are the biggest stakeholders and Procam International continues to introduce initiatives that make race day more memorable for all participants. Actions were taken in the following areas – medical facilities, facilities and services for runners and waste management initiatives

Fully equipped base camp with 47 beds, triage area and dedicated medical staff
3 medical centers in detention centers.
Trained medical staff at all stations in case of emergencies
The route has 10 Advanced Life Support Ambulances and 12 Mobile Paramedics (all with AEDs)
On the day of the competition, more than 400 health care providers were distributed to medical posts and base camps. These include 50 doctors, 100 nurses, 70 paramedics, 10 ACLS ambulances, 12 bicycle medics and other support staff.
During the last 6 km of the race, 3 separate EMT ambulances, each equipped with AEDs, and 3 mobile medics and 3 aid stations, all equipped with AEDs, to deal with unexpected cardiac arrest situations.
Medical staff dedicated to the elderly near the finish line11 medical points, including one mini base camp dedicated to the elderly.
FACILITIES at THE CELL and STADIUM
Bisler, India’s most trusted bottled drinking water, the event’s hydration partner, has 13 water stations and 4 mist zones along the route to ensure adequate hydration for all participants. A total of 1,15,525 liters of Bisler water is planned to be used.
India’s most popular active nutrition brand FASTandUP, the event’s Energy Drink Partner, has six stations along the route to boost efficiency.
The snack partner is Mondelez India’s premium CadburyFuse brand, which will have two Cadbury Fuse stations on race day.
Running groups, volunteers pull their weight: A total of 200 running volunteers raise the noise and energy level on race day, while a dozen running groups manage 15 support points. On race day, 2,000 volunteers work to ensure a smooth event.
DMRC Services: Metro train services will start early on the day of the event from 03:45 AM from all termini, travel time is around 15 minutes.
Police Cup: 13 women athletes and 84 men’s teams will participate in the prestigious Police Cup of Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon. Each team has 3 members, so 291 participants.
Sporting goods partner PUMA is organizing a special warm-up session for all half marathon participants. 100% MASQUERADE COMPETITION.
The Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon is supported by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), which lends its expertise to ensure that all waste generated along the route is dealt with effectively. 100 plus NDMC sanitation workers ensure efficient collection and segregation.
Procam also works closely with Hasiru Dala Innovations, a social enterprise that, with the help of the Chintan Environmental Research and Action Group, monitors various ecological options and ensures effective waste management at the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon.
