India vs England: Hosts may miss Bumrah in Ranchi Test

The India squad that left the Birsa Mundra Airport in the Jharkhand city did not include Jasprit Bumrah. Team India has arrived in Ranchi for the fourth Test of the five-match series against England, which begins on February 23. The England and India squads arrived in Ranchi by a private chartered flight.

All the members of the Team India squad were present in Ranchi, but Jasprit Bumrah wasn’t, and the only pacers in the squad were Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep.

As Ravichandran Ashwin urged the supporters to celebrate Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan, and Yashasvi Jaiswal—the stars of India’s victory in Rajkot—there were thunderous applause for Team India at the Ranchi airport.

Released during the Rajkot Test for Bengal’s Ranji Trophy match, Mukesh Kumar is anticipated to join the team prior to the Ranchi Test, when he will compete with Akash Deep for the slot left empty by Bumrah. The Bumrah reportedly stayed back in Gujarat so he could take a break and better manage his duties.

Rajat Patidar would have to make way for veteran hitter KL Rahul, who is anticipated to return to full fitness and participate in the Ranchi Test.
