He has completed numerous surgical procedures and intensive rehabilitation to achieve a level where he is prepared to resume cricketing activities.

In the meantime, the BCCI also shared a medical update on fast bowlers Mohd Shami and Prasidh Krishna, informing that both players will be unavailable for the upcoming edition of the IPL as they have recently undergone surgery to address their individual injury concerns.

Shami will miss IPL 2024 after his surgery

Shami recently underwent a successful surgery on his heel to repair his Achilles tendon, following an injury sustained during India’s 2023 ODI World Cup campaign. Since the heartbreaking loss in the final to Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19, Shami has been out of action.
