New Delhi: In a shocking incident that has left the city of Delhi in dismay, a 26-year-old man was subjected to a horrific ordeal in the east Delhi area. According to the police, the victim was allegedly beaten up, sexually assaulted, and robbed of his cash and mobile phone. To make matters worse, the accused also recorded a video of the assault and later demanded a ransom of Rs 50,000 from the victim in exchange for deleting the evidence, the police revealed. The heart-wrenching incident came to light on Thursday, sending shockwaves through the community.
A 26- year old man sexually assaulted and robbed in Delhi
A PCR call was received at Preet Vihar police station at around 2:13 a.m. on July 28 about an undergoing treatment of an injured at Hedgewar Hospital. When the police visited the hospital they found that the victim was not fit to give any statement for the injustice happened with him. Next day, on July 29 when the victim was ready to give a statement on the matter, he said the police that he was with his girlfriend in a cafe on Vikas Marg where he ordered wine. The bill summed upto 2600 to which he raised question which lead to a heated argument between him and staff where the staff statrted abusing and beating him.
After this, he was forcefully pushed into a car and was beaten up, while the car was going the direction of Meerut. After they reached Gang Nahar, he was sexually assaulted and abused by the accused. Not only this the accused took a video of him being assaulted and demanded Rs 50,000 in return to delete the video. They also robbed a total of Rs 8000 and his car keys. Then the accused left the victim in an injured condition near Vivekanand Mahila College, Vivek Vihar whereafter he was taken to hospital by his family members.
Delhi has long grappled with issues of sexual assault and violence against individuals, sparking widespread outrage and calls for immediate action.
