Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee has slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Union Budget 2024

Expressing his unhappiness on the union budget, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading a “creaky, shaky and vulnerable” coalition government that looked after the interests of only two states, ignoring all other citizens of the country.

Participating in the discussion on the Union Budget 2024 in the Lok Sabha, the TMC leader said coalition means cooperation, collaboration, cohesion but the budget shows coalition is appeasement and compensation.

He termed the union Budget 2024-25 “anti-people”, which the TMC leader said was aimed at “appeasing and compensating” coalition partners of the ruling NDA.

“The budget has no vision and agenda. There is no relief to the common people and the budget has neglected 140 crore people of the country,” he said in a hard-hitting speech.

Banerjee claimed the 2024 general elections’ results are a rejection of “arrogance and divisive politics” of the BJP.

He said everything in the third term of the Modi government remained same with ministers retaining the same portfolios except that the number of “cheer leaders” of the ruling party has gone down, which is a big change.

Banerjee said the Modi government is on borrowed time and the government will fall soon.

“Wait for sometime, masuam bigadne wala hai (weather is going to change) Have a little patience and fasten your seatbelt,” he said.
He said the 2024 Lok Sabha election result is a direct audit of the performance of Prime Minister Modi.

“The PM was the face, body and head of the BJP’s campaign. They said abki baar 400 paar… but the party lost heavily in Bengal, stunned in Uttar Pradesh, shaken up in Maharashtra,” he said.

Banerjee alleged that the budget was planned by two individuals to keep another two in good faith, neglecting the aspirations of 140 crore people.

He said when a bridge collapsed in West Bengal a few years ago, the prime minister had said it was not an act of God, but an act of fraud.

But later a bridge collapsed in Gujarat and canopies in three airports under his rule also collapsed. Were these act of God or act of fraud, the TMC MP asked.
