This village follows a daily digital detox: In Maharashtra’s Sangli district, there lies a village called ‘Mohityanche Vadgaon’ – a simple yet smart village in the western part of India. Every resident, young and old, collectively decide to switch off their televisions, cell phones, and other electrical devices for one whole hour. Around 3000 residents live in this village and everyday a siren warns people to keep their phones away from themselves for atleast 1 hour.

The village head Vijay Mohite said that “After we have got a very good response from the villagers, we are pondering over an idea to extend the ‘No mobile No TV’ time to two hours in near future.” Mohityanche Vadgaon serves as an inspiring example to the rest of the world.
