Greta Thunberg: The 20-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has found herself in legal trouble over a climate protest she organized in her home country. Born on January 3 2003 she first gained attention in August 2018 when she started skipping school to protest outside the Swedish Parliament with a sign reading “Skolstrejk för klimatet” (School strike for the climate). According to the reports Greta will be appearing before the court in Malmo at 9:30 GMT. According to reports the climate activists along with Greta Thunberg said to have block the port in the city of Malmo. The chargesheet states that Greta Thunberg “took part in a protest that disrupted traffic” and “refused to obey the police orders to leave the site.” On account of being guilty Greta will be charged with 6 months of imprisonment.

In June while protesting against the use of fossil fuels the environmentalist group “Ta Tillbaka framtiden” which means “Reclaim the future” blocked the entrance and exit of Malmo Harbour. In recent years Thunberg has become a symbol of youth activism and a prominent figure in the global climate movement. Her inspiring speeches and tireless efforts to hold political leaders accountable have earned her numerous accolades and awards including multiple nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize.
